Adventures for Kids - Adults Welcome !!!

Face Painting: Kids - and kids at heart - can join Gert, also known as Gramma Moose on the Loose, and her sidekick, Aud Aster, and get their faces painted for free. How about a face to match your pet pooch? Or a sneering pirate’s (aargh!) Or a clown face?

This fun-living pair will be face-painting and clowning around by the Canal every afternoon. And they would love for you to join them.
Andrea “the Bug Lady” Howard” is a teacher by nature, an active member of Theatre Night in Merrickville, an avid student of flora and  fauna, and a staunch advocate of habitat preservation.

Whether you’re “big on bugs” or not, you’re sure to enjoy the Bug Lady and her Museum in a Suitcase.

You can catch the Bug Lady in the Park every afternoon during Canalfest.
Kids Loonie Fishing Derby - This traditional and always popular event will be held on Saturday from 9:00 am to noon at Blockhouse Park on the edge of the Canal. Lines, lures, prizes and lots of fun will be provided. Kids do not have to be there at 9:00 am to participate. They can join in the fun anytime during the morning.
Rideau Canal History Hunt:  This fun event provides a great opportunity for kids and families to brush up on their local history and win some “cool” and “hot” prizes. Forms can be picked up at the Lions Booth between 1:00 and 2:00 pm on Sunday and must be returned by 4:00 pm the same day.

Check out the alpacas at the craft show.
