Listen to the smooth sounds and styles of vintage jazz, quick steps, fox trots, struts, parade marches, old rags, gospel and blues.

The Ottawa-based New Orleans Jazz Band, which has been performing together for 15 years, is always a popular draw in Merrickville.

Kitchen Party

Sunday  12:30 - 3:30 pm

Celebrating 20 years as purveyors of Mardi Gras music, Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo serve up a high-energy mumbo gumbo of blues, boogie, jazz, reggae, calypso and Latin music - Or what the Ottawa XPress called “Cajun-Inflected Psycho Blues.”

You can also catch the band at Gad’s Hill Place on Monday night.

Hear the band play here.

And this August long weekend you can party into the night during Canalfest. Different entertainers and bands will be performing at Merrickville’s pubs and restaurants throughout the weekend.

Kitchen Party combines voice, guitar, mandolin, violin, flute and percussion and a blend of old repertoire and original pieces to create a hand-clapping, toe-tapping Celtic sound.

Based in Mascouche, Quebec, Kitchen Party plays regularly in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and the U.S and has enjoyed four successful music tours in Scotland.
